Beginning in 2003, the league that won the All-Star game was awarded home-field advantage.

The 1926 game went down in history as Babe Ruth became the first player to hit three home runs in a single World Series game.

World Series History

The original championship games were disorganized. The series could last from as few as three to as many as fifteen games before a winner was crowned. Baseball came into its own in 1920. At the end of the 1919 season, the New York Yankees traded Babe Ruth from the Boston Red Sox. Until 1964, the Yankees were considered one of the premier teams in all of baseball. In the 18 years between 1947 and 1964, the Yankees claimed the World Series championship an impressive 15 times.

Another milestone occurred in 1971 with the first night game of the championship series. This allowed for a larger television audience. Naturally, this increased revenues.

A designated hitter (DH) rule allows teams to substitute a batter in the place of a pitcher with weak-hitting skills. The American League adopted the rule in 1973, but the National League has not adopted it. This, obviously, created a problem during World Series play. From 1973 to 1975, the World Series did not allow designated hitters. Beginning with the 1976 series, designated hitters were allowed in even-numbered years. An agreement was reach in 1986 when Major League Baseball adopted the existing DH rule. That rule provides that designated hitters can play in world Series games played in the American League champion's parks, but may not play when games are held in the National League champion's park. This proves to create a distinct home-field advantage.

There have been many thrilling moments in World Series history. Baseball fans know all about Larsen's perfect game and Reggie Jackson's outstanding performances. Fans still talk about the 1988 game with Kirk Gibson's pinch-hit home run against Hall of Fame member, Dennis Eckersley. Baseball truly is America's game!

World Series Location Descriptions and FAQ

FAQ
1) How do I find the seats for World Series tickets?

On the page containing World Series ticket details, the general location may be listed if they were provided by the ticket broker. (ticket notes under ticket listing) We do not require the seat numbers to be listed by the ticket brokers for the privacy of the buyer and seller. If the World Series seat numbers are not listed, buyers can rest assured that all seats purchased from a single listing will be located together unless otherwise clearly stated in the World Series ticket notes.

2) How do I know I am getting a good price when buying baseball tickets to see World Series?

Our website specializes in sold-out and unavailable seating for World Series events and many others. When you purchase World Series tickets from us you can rest assured that our prices are cheaper than our competitors. When you are comparing the prices, consider the World Series ticket availability, baseball event popularity, and the expenses that ticket brokers incur when they obtained the World Series tickets.

3) I think I may have received the wrong World Series tickets. What do I do?

It is rare that a buyer will receive the wrong World Series tickets, but accidents can happen. If you believe that you have received the incorrect World Series tickets, please contact the ticket broker that is listed on your World Series receipt and provide your order number. Please note that your name isn't always the name on the baseball tickets and that isn't a problem, those are your sports tickets. If the World Series tickets are in a better section, then the ticket broker might have decided to upgrade your World Series tickets for free. Please check with the ticket broker to discuss this with them. If they are in fact the wrong World Series tickets, the ticket broker and us will make every effort to resolve the issue to your satisfaction. Keep in mind that you are covered by our 100% guarantee on baseball tickets so you should not have any concerns.

4) What do I do if my order for World Series tickets has not been confirmed by the ticket broker?

If the baseball ticket broker has not confirmed your order for World Series tickets, you should call them to find out if there is a problem with your billing. If the ticket broker is unable to confirm the World Series order because the tickets are sold (this is very rare), they will search the TicketSupply.com marketplace to find other World Series tickets for you or we will allow you to cancel the order for a refund. When looking for alternate World Series tickets, we will try to find those with a similar price and location. However, supply and demand for baseball events dictate price and location so there are no guarantees.

5) Why isn't my name displayed on my World Series tickets?

You are purchasing these World Series tickets from a ticket broker who has obtained them for you from someone who couldn't attend the World Series event. Since the sports venue only scans the ticket barcodes, the name on the World Series ticket is irrelevant. It should not prevent you from seeing World Series and experiencing the full baseball event.
