Blue Man Group History

The Blue Man Group originated as the brainchild of Chris Wink, Phil Stanton and Matt Goldman in 1986. While they had met a few years earlier, college and real life took the three in separate directions for a brief time. They began their early career playing around New York City in small clubs and up close venues. The group played mainly percussion instruments, such as drums, along with PVC pipes that were designed to produce different tones, depending on their length.
